About the Role
Not every story is told with words — and we’re here for it. Our editorial platform, VAGUE TOMES was founded with the intention of providing a home for visuals, sounds, objects and lived experiences to carry as much weight as the written word in our magazine.
We’re inviting stylists, photographers, culture producers, artists and creators of all kinds to help us shape new ways of storytelling. If you have a practice, perspective or project that intersects with fashion, music, politics or culture, there’s a place for you here.
📑 Requirements
Contributors who understand the cultural and community contexts behind their work to translate their practice into editorial projects with us — be it through photography, film, styling, sound, performance etc
👥 Roles
Visual Storytellers — photographers, filmmakers, illustrators, designers — capture moments, moods and movements with originality & depth.
Stylists / Creative Directors turn clothing, sets and styling choices into cultural commentary.
Cultural Contributors — musicians, curators, community builders, performance artists — use their practice to co-create cross-disciplinary projects and expand what editorial can look and feel like.
❤️🔥 Nice-to-Haves
A strong creative voice; willingness to experiment; an eye for cultural detail; connections to communities or movements that deserve visibility. Print or editorial experience is welcome but not required — what matters most is vision, curiosity and the ability to push cultural conversations forward.

ℹ️ Key Information
You will need to be a registered member of the VAGUE community to be able to complete your application. This will allow you to join our Discord server, connect with our global team and submit stories. Editorial applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
💰 Payment & Rates
We are a small community-led organization so unfortunately we aren't able to offer competitive rates but want to ensure you are at least somewhat compensated within our means. As such, editorial commissions are priced from £5 - £30 depending on format (we publish written, visual and / or audio essays), word count and estimated impact.
